Wi-Fi that Works

SITUATION

A direct to consumer vegetable basket company had a local warehouse built. They contracted another company to design and install a Wi-Fi system in the warehouse which was filled with pallet racks and product. They needed coverage everywhere to support a fleet of handheld Wi-Fi enabled product scanners but ended up with spotty coverage that changed as products on the pallet racks changed.

SOLUTION

The company was referred to ATP due to our reputation with large scale warehouse Wi-Fi design and installation. After a brief evaluation and proposal, ATP moved several of the existing Wi-Fi access points, added several more, and tuned the system to the environment.

SUMMARY

With the Wi-Fi access points properly placed and tuned, the company experienced no more Wi-Fi issues when scanning products, no matter the level of inventory. By reusing the existing equipment, ATP was able to solve their Wi-Fi problem more economically and quickly than replacing the entire system. When the company built on and doubled their warehouse size at this location, ATP was brought back in to design and install the Wi-Fi system in the new warehouse.
